Introduction

We take the protection of our website users' data very seriously and are committed to protecting the information that users provide to us in connection with the use of our website. We are also committed to protecting and using your information in accordance with applicable law.

This Privacy Policy explains our practices regarding the collection, use and disclosure of your information through the use of our website (the ‘Services’) when you access the Services through your devices.

Please read the Privacy Policy carefully and make sure you fully understand our practices regarding your data before using our services. If you have read and fully understood this policy and do not agree with our practices, you must stop using our digital services. By using our Services, you accept the terms of this Privacy Policy. Your continued use of the Services constitutes your acceptance of this Privacy Policy and any changes to it.

This Privacy Policy tells you:

What data do we collect?

Below is an overview of the data we may collect:

  • Non-identified and non-identifiable information that you provide while using our services or that is collected through the use of our services (‘non-personal data’). Non-personal information does not allow us to identify who collected it. Non-personal data that we collect consists mainly of technical and summarised usage information.

  • Individually identifiable information, i.e. any information by which you can be identified or could reasonably be identified (‘personal data’). The Personal Data we collect through our Services may include information that is requested from time to time, such as names, email addresses, addresses, phone numbers, IP addresses and more. If we combine personal data with non-personal data, we will treat it as personal data for as long as it is combined.

How do we collect data?

Below are the main methods we use to collect data:

  • We collect data when you use our services. So when you visit our website and use services, we may collect, record and store usage, sessions and related information.

  • We collect data that you provide to us yourself, for example when you contact us directly via a communication channel (e.g. an email with a comment or feedback).

  • We may collect data from third party sources as described below.

  • We collect data that you provide to us when you log in to our services via a third-party provider such as Facebook or Google.

Why do we collect this data?

We may use your data for the following purposes

  • to provide and operate our Services;

  • to develop, customise and improve our Services;

  • to respond to your feedback, enquiries and requests and to provide assistance;

  • to analyse request and usage patterns;

  • for other internal, statistical and research purposes;

  • to improve our data security and fraud prevention capabilities

  • to investigate violations and enforce our terms and policies and to comply with applicable law, regulation or governmental request;

  • to send you updates, news, promotional material and other information related to our services.

Who do we share this data with?

We may disclose your information to our service providers in order to operate our services (e.g., storing data via third party hosting services, providing technical support, etc.).

We may also disclose your information in the following circumstances: (i) to investigate, detect, prevent or take action regarding illegal activities or other wrongdoing; (ii) to establish or exercise our rights of defence; (iii) to protect our rights, property or personal safety, or the safety of our users or the public; (iv) in the event of a change of control of us or one of our affiliates (by way of merger, acquisition or purchase of (substantially all) of its assets, etc.); (v) to transfer your information by way of an authorised merger, acquisition or purchase of (substantially all) of its assets, etc.; (vi) in the event of a change of control of us or one of our affiliates (by way of a merger, acquisition or purchase of (substantially all) of its assets, etc.). etc.); (v) to collect, hold and/or manage your information using authorised third party service providers (e.g. cloud service providers) as appropriate for business purposes; (vi) to work with third parties to improve your user experience. For the avoidance of doubt, please note that we may transfer, disclose or otherwise use non-personal data to third parties at our discretion.

Cookies and similar technologies

Our website uses so-called cookies. These are small text files that are stored on your end device with the help of the browser. When you visit or access our services, we authorise third parties to use web beacons, cookies, pixel tags, scripts and other technologies and analysis services (‘tracking technologies’). These Tracking Technologies may allow third parties to automatically collect your data in order to improve the browsing experience on our website, optimise its performance and ensure a tailored user experience, as well as for security and fraud prevention purposes.

To find out more, please read our cookie policy.

A banner at the bottom of this website indicates the use of cookies. If you do not want this, you can set up your browser so that it informs you about the setting of cookies and you only allow this in individual cases. The procedure for this varies depending on the browser. Information on this and other options relating to cookies can be found on the pages of the respective browser providers.

If cookies are deactivated, the functionality of our website may be restricted.

Web analysis / Google Analytics

On our website we use Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google Inc (hereinafter always referred to as ‘Google’ or ‘Google Analytics’). Google Analytics uses so-called targeted cookies, which are stored on your computer and enable your use of the website to be analysed. The information generated by the cookie is usually transferred to a Google server in the USA and stored there. Data processing is carried out on the basis of the legal provisions of § 96 para. 3 TKG and Art. 6 para. 1 lit a (consent) and f (legitimate interest) of the GDPR. Our concern within the meaning of the GDPR (legitimate interest) is the improvement of our offer and our website.

Further information can be found in the Google Analytics terms of use and in Google's general privacy policy. Please check there regularly, as the data protection provisions of Google products are constantly updated and adapted due to extended functionalities.

IP anonymisation / pseudonymisation

As your privacy is important to us, your user data is pseudonymised. We use the function ‘Activation of IP anonymisation’ or ‘anonymizeIp’ to ensure anonymised collection of IP addresses (so-called IP masking). This means that your IP address is recorded by Google within member states of the European Union or in other signatory states to the Agreement on the European Economic Area, but immediately pseudonymised (e.g. by deleting the last 8 bits). This means that only a rough localisation is possible. In exceptional cases, IP addresses may be transferred in full to a Google server in the USA and only truncated there. Google will process this information on our behalf in order to analyse the use of our website, compile reports on website activity and provide us with other services relating to website and Internet use. The IP address transmitted by your browser as part of Google Analytics will not be merged with other Google data.

Deactivate Google Analytics / prevent data collection

You can prevent Google from collecting the data generated by Google Analytics cookies and relating to your use of the website (including your IP address) and from processing this data by Google by selecting the appropriate cookie settings on your browser; however, please note that if you do this, other areas and services of our website may not function as expected.

Google also offers its own browser plugin to deactivate Google Analytics, which can be downloaded and installed on this website.

Contract data processing

The relationship with Google is based on the so-called ‘EU-US Privacy Shield’, an agreement between the European Union (EU) and the USA, which is intended to ensure compliance with European data protection standards in the USA. It can therefore be assumed that there is an ‘adequate level of data protection’ when Google processes personal data and that the data is handled in compliance with data protection regulations. Google's certification under the Privacy Shield can be viewed at privacyshield.gov.

We will only use the information we collect in connection with the services that the child has requested.

We may also use a parent's contact information to communicate about the child's activities on the Services. Parents may review information we have collected from their child, prohibit us from collecting further information from their child, and request that any information we have collected be deleted from our records.

Please contact us to view, update or delete your child's data. To protect your child, we may ask you to provide proof of your identity. We may deny you access to the data if we believe that your identity is questionable. Please note that certain data cannot be deleted due to other legal obligations.
